Paxson was a frontiersman, hunter, Indian scout, stage
coach guard, telegraph line rider and soldier in the Old West.
A self-taught
artist,
Paxson painted his life in the Montana Territory of
the 1800's. Paxson created 2000 highly collectable landscapes,
action panoramas
of life
on the frontier, portraits of Native Americans he admired,
murals of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, and his masterpiece, "Custer's
Last Stand".
